Innsbruck, Austria
Innsbruck, Austria
The capital city of Tyrol in western Austria. It has many interesting imperialistic stories but we've been here only a day to know more about. Because we were on the way going to Munich and we decided to make a stop in this city so we took the opportunity to explore it.
It's a small town surrounded by mountains offering beautiful views from any perspective.
We parked the car nearby then we took time for a nice walk, which was a welcome relief, going around through different historical buildings of the city, starting from the Triumphal Arch.
A very quiet city until we arrived at the Golden Roof, where we found many tourists taking photos. The Goldenes Dachl is the most famous monument and the symbol of the city. Actually the roof is made of gold-plated copper.
Symbol of the city also is the Civic Tower (or Studtturn) nearby the Golden Roof. With its 51 meters high, you can reach the top and get a 360 degrees view of the city by taking the 148 steps of stone stairs; exhausting but worth it.
